This month we are LOVING Opera!
After learning about Mozart last month and that one of his most famous operas was The Magic Flute, we began learning about it this month.
The characters- Pamino, the Queen of the Night, Papageno, Zerostro, and Pamina come to life in the different videos that we watched.
To celebrate Valentine's Day, Prek and K are learning the V-A-L-E-N-T-I-N-E's song, and 4th and 5th grade are being entertained with the silly song called Valentime's day. Yes, it's spelled with an M. It's a silly song, after all.
After Valentine's day, Pre-3rd grade will sing a crossover song that goes with Mrs. Tootle's lesson plan of famous people from Georgia. The song is Zippidee Doo Dah. Prek-1st will learn a circle dance to go with it.
4th and 5th grades will learn about the history of Blue's music, and the story of W. C. Handy, the father of the Blues.
We will round out the month with a song study and performance analysis on two songs from one of my favorite movies, Sister Act Two.
All these can be found, watched and listened to on my February playlist on YouTube!
